Thi-Mai Nguyen
She studied classical and contemporary dance at the National Conservatory of Paris and after in PARTS. At 17, she will win the 2º prize at the Paris competition. Thimai Nguyen Will work from 2002 to 2012 with the choreographer WIM VANDEKEYBUS/ULTIMA VEZ company as a dancer interpreter in several shows. She will be assisting Wim Vandekeybus with the choreography for the Gothenburg Opera, the Brussels Royal Circus and workshops around the world. Thimai Nguyen will realize the Making-off of the film Blush, and different clips of the pieces of the company. She worked with MICHELLE ANNE DE MEY on the revival of SINFONIA EROICA, in 2012 for LA COMPAGNIE DU HANNETON/JAMES THIERREE and assists James in choreography at the Opéra Garnier. She worked as a choreographer on the film “The Truth” of Mr. Kore Eda Hirokazu.
In 2018, “ETNA” Thimai Nguyen’s first solo was awarded the Critics’ Prize for the best dance show in Belgium.

A class is a class. The difference is you. How much presence you’ll give to yourself and to the other people dancing with you. That’s a simple challenge but never ending. We’ll begin with a warm-up of each body part, following a focus on qualities of movements.
Three challenges are introduced during the course:
- How to distribute our energy throughout a set of movements, technically very challenging.
- When to retain or let goes our body talks, switch from a quality of body to another.
- How to be fully involved in the “DO” instead of merely reproducing forms.
We’ll experience the “repetition” exercise, from the acting technique of Stanley Meisner, that will be later confronted with the dance. We will see how each movement is significant, and we will take care to be fully in the present moment while dancing.
