LA FAKTORIA Choreographic Center Choreographic Center offers an international training and research program in contemporary dance under the direction of MARTA CORONADO, LAIDA ALDAZ & CARMEN LARRAZ in the city of Pamplona north of Spain.

This program is designed for dancers who wish to open their knowledge and develop creative processes in an environment of artistic exchange.

MARTA CORONADO

Marta Coronado, studied dance at the Official School of Dance of the Government of Navarra and works as a dancer at the Yauzkari company, José Lainez. She finished her studies at P.A.R.T.S. and after she begins to work for Rosas company of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.

Since 1998 she dances in: Drumming, I said I, In real time, Rain, April me, Bitches Brew, Kassandra, Rain Raga D ‘a soir a jour, Mozart concert Arias, Steve Right evening. In 2002, she receives the BESSIE award (New York Dance and Performance Award). In 2008, she began her career as co-director of the repertoire of Rosas at the school P.A.R.T.S. From 2011, she co-directs the pieces of repertoire of Rosas in The Opera of Lyon and the Opera of Paris as a rehearsal director, roll that she is still keep on doing.

She teaches at PARTS, Amsterdam Theater School, Deltebre Festival, Impulstanz Vienna, La Raffinerie, Ultima Vez / Wim Vandekeybus, Cie Thor / Thierry Smits, Marseille National Ballet, Rosas, Les ballets C de la B and others.

Her choreographic work begins in 2009 and she is invited to create at La Salle Singapore, Fueradeleje and Dantzaz Konpainia. In 2011, she co-created the collective House of Bertha and In 2013, she forms part of the PHD project in one night. She has been a guest choreographer at La Monnaie Opera for Opera Orfeo and Manjun and she is currently choreographer assistant for the re-take of West Side Story on Broadway New York.

LAIDA ALDAZ

Laida Aldaz Arrieta, multidisciplinary artist, in many cases self-taught. Studies dance at the Navarra’s Official School of Dance and at PARTS.

She has worked with Mark Tompkins & Meg Stuart in “Lab ABC”, Ali & Hedi Thabet in “Nous sommes pareils…”, R14 in “Tsunami”, David Zambrano in “The Rabbit Project”, Julyen Hamilton in “T43”, Roberto Olivan in “De Farra” and others. She is currently dancing in the piece of de Ali & Hedi Thabet called “’UWRUBBA”.

She has taught at Ultima Vez/Wim Vandekeybus, Cie Thor/Thierry Smits, Alias Summer Intensive Canada, Conservatorio de Danza de Murcia, Kalamata Dance Festival, Festival Danzad Danzad Malditos, RITS, DCJ and many others.

Her curiosity leads her to co-create, direct and produce works and projects in different artistic fields such as “Soñando Despiertos”, “Shopping List”, “DVP”, “BS&I”, “Derrière Elle”, “Kirolak” among others, that are performed internationally and have received several awards. In 2020 she has made the short film “The Room”.

She is the artistic director and founder of El Trastero Creativo, association with which carries out several artistic projects and Zinetika Festival., a multidiscliplinary and international festival where relationships between dance and new technologies are explored and that takes place every year in Pamplona, San Sebastian and Bilbao.

CARMEN LARRAZ

Carmen Larraz studied in P.A.R.T.S, for the X-group, Brussels. Then she worked for some companies: Salva Sanchis , Frey Faust, Deja Donne, contemporary circus company Rital Brocante , En- Knap, with David Zambrano for the Rabbit Project, with Bertha Bermudez´s for “Belleza Robada” and Marta Coronado for “El Silencio de las Flores”.

On 2013 she created the company Dínamo Dance, with which has performed in several festivals and has premiered several performances.

On 2016, she gets the second price at the International Solo Dance Contest Gdansk, with her solo “Dynamo”, and at the 30º Certamen Coreográfico Madrid she gets the price of two artistic residences.

Danzad Danzad Malditos Dance Festival, an open air independent dance festival celebrated at the Historical Centre of Pamplona celebrated from 2016. On 2019, together with Marta Coronado and Laida Aldaz, she creates and co-directs La Faktoria International Choreographic Centre. She usually teaches contemporary dance and improvisation, and keeps learning martial arts.
