La Faktoria Choreographic Center develops an educational programme in contemporary dance and artistic creation within schools, integrated into school hours as a pedagogical tool.

The project was born from La Faktoria’s desire to connect artistic creation with education, bringing art closer to children while encouraging new ways of learning and contributing to the development of future audiences. Through this initiative, the aim is to stimulate individual and collective creativity, critical thinking, innovation, and a deeper understanding of the reality in which we live.

The proposal originated from an idea by Helena Lizari, the project’s artistic director, while the organisational and executive direction is led by Laida Aldaz Arrieta and Marta Coronado, directors of La Faktoria Choreographic Center.

HELENA LIZARI

She is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher specializing in movement and psychomotor skills. She holds a degree in movement theory and analysis, dance, and performance from the AHK in Amsterdam and has extensive training with leading figures in contemporary dance.

She has built a solid career in both creation and teaching, having worked with renowned choreographers and artists in Europe—including Charles Corneille and Merckx, Marcelo Evelin, and Angelika Oei—and presenting her own works in various international contexts: El baile no acaba aquí, Walk Me, Please Exit(s), Soufle, Kirolak, Maleable… At the same time, she teaches at specialized centers and participates in dance-related educational projects in schools across various countries.

She is part of the team at the SUDANSA Artistic and Cultural Association, which creates programs to develop choreographic practices in elementary schools in Catalonia. She is also a certified therapist in the Feldenkrais-ChildSpace Method, which involves studies in neurology, psychology, communication, and observation of child development functions, focusing on the functioning of the motor system and the study of movement in the body’s developmental process.

IVAN MONTERO

Iván Montero is a dancer, performer, and creator from Navarre whose work lies at the intersection of urban and contemporary dance. He trained at La Faktoria Choreographic Center. Before devoting himself fully to dance, he combined studies in music and martial arts, earning a 1^st degree black belt in Taekwondo.

In the creative and performing arts field, he has participated in productions such as In Perspective (In Perspective Company), QTA (ZUK Performing Arts Company), OPHI (La Casa Amarilla Company), Trayectos (La Faktoria C.C.), Crunch Time (La Intrusa Company), and 01 (a solo piece of his own creation). At the same time, he has been teaching for over seven years in various educational settings.

SAIOA IRAIZOZ

Born in Alsasua in 2000, Saioa Iraizoz is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher who began studying traditional Basque dance at the age of 4 before turning her focus to contemporary dance.

In 2023, Saioa earned a bachelor’s degree in Choreography and Performance from Dantzerti, the Higher School of Dramatic Art and Dance of the Basque Country, and completed her studies at La Faktoria Choreographic Center. She has performed with In Perspective Tabakalera as a dancer while also teaching at dance schools such as Irantzu González Dantza Eskola and Diana Casas Escuela de Danza.
