Arena Productions

Arena is a production company specialized in documentary cinema and the creation of immersive audiovisual installations. Their films have been awarded at numerous international festivals, from San Sebastián to IDFA Amsterdam. For years, they have explored the expressive possibilities that arise from the encounter between dance and film.
Pablo Iraburu, founder and creative director of Arena, is a trainer at the Doha Film Institute, the University of Navarra, and the immersive residency Doklab Navarra. He has collaborated with Marcos Morau (on the documentary Oskara) and with the dance company Kukai (on the dance film Bizimina).
In this workshop, Iraburu unpacks the creative process behind a dance film: from the original idea to final distribution. The approach is always rooted in real practice, drawing on hands-on experience to explore the relationship between the body in front of the lens and the one behind the camera, the creative possibilities of editing, and strategies for reaching an international audience.
